The Survival Group is a Road Safety Education development organization established in 1996. Yvonne Williams is a road safety educator and member of the Australasian College of Road Safety. She is also a freelance journalist and motoring writer. David Williams is a qualified Driving Instructor and road safety educator and member of the Australasian College of Road Safety. Tristan Williams is an Advanced Driver Training Consultant and aspiring race driver. As a family they have been involved in various forms of motor sport, including car club events, rallying, sprints, motorkhanas and tarmac rallies for many years. Yvonne and David first became involved in road safety education in 1996 when their children Yvette and Tristan started driving. Because of their motor sport background and the fact that David was a driving instructor, they knew very early on what their kids needed to concentrate on when out driving. They also spent over 120 hours supervising their teens under varied driving conditions. During this time Yvonne and David developed a range of road safety training resources for schools and teachers. The SKID Program and Young Driver Survival Kit were eagerly received by Senior Schools in Australia and New Zealand. In a bid to empower parents and make an impact on the tragic young driver road toll, The Survival Group has teamed up with respected information network Ask Patty.com in their global PATTI Road Safety Program - Parents Actively Teaching Teens Initiative. |
